About UsWho? What? and How?s of 'What ? Cafe''What ? Cafe' was created by two tea-loving, slurpee-sipping Florida State graduates:
one savvy, OCD musician-technician and one economical, hippie artist-scientist.
They believe in diversity, cooperation and living a productive, happy full-filling life. Thus, came up with creating a space where someone can study, enjoy the music and the arts, or just hang out while having a sweet treat.
The Place: Some pre-existing fixtures left from the previous tenant (a clothing store), hand me downs, fresh paint, creativity, and a lot of assembly time (= no sleep) became the place you see today.
- 2x4's from a wall that was once a fitting room became the main structure of our cabinets and the space is now a stage area for performances.
- Some slat walls that were left on the walls were removed to create the side panels of our cabinets.
- Used furniture were provided by friends and family. It's just laying around, why not reuse it some where else. Some are from a different decade/style, so we remastered it to be new again.
- It could not have been done without the talent, support, and time of friends and family.
The Name: After weeks of brainstorming a business name, "What?", "What!", "This one.", "That one." were the most common words said, thus 'What ? Cafe' was to born. It is humorous, a great conversation starter, non-thematic, and the expectation of what 'What ? Cafe' has to offer is what each individual has in mind.
